I will not abide by personal attacks, direct or inferred, in this tribe any longer.
The day after a certain pissing match got started three months ago, I recieved word that my nearest and dearest friend of 11 years was dead. This made me a recluse for quite some time and I hadn't the presence of mind to concern myself with online matters, even the moderation of my own tribes. It really pissed me off to see said pissing match resurrected so long after anyone should have given two tugs of a dog's dick about it, and it didn't get any better from there.
Perhaps I should have been clearer about why I deleted that thread. From this point on I will aggressively annihilate any post that exists to take a shot at another poster. I don't care who you are, I don't care what your beef is, I don't even care if you're right or wrong. A large reason I started this tribe was because I was sick of how negative and hostile metal forums tend to be.
There's a little bit of wisdom in the saying that arguing online is like competing in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded. So no more, okay? I don't want to spend all my time here deleting posts.

Mon, December 13, 2004 - 2:13 AMThank you Winter... in another metal-related tribe, I heard(read) someone referring to Dimebag Darrell's shooting, and yelling about how this "wasn't gangsta rap" and that this "wouldn't be tolerated"..... heres the deal... this is MUSIC... metal, rap(even "gangsta" which btw, I do like), classical, country... it doesn't matter... this is MUSIC, and we love it... no violence or threats should emerge from it.... I hold music as one of the biggest JOYS in my life, and joy does not leave room for violence or hatred. Metal, as aggressive at it is at times, should still NEVER come to violence.... this is a brother-and-sisterhood... an artform that we love and practice dearly.... donh't turn this into what the "right-wingers" want...

If I dislike some bands so much, I don't even want to write something negative about them to give them some online exposure and publicity. Pretty much everything sucks for me, except a few select bands I actually enjoy listening to.

for instance: I hate everthing dream theater put out since awake. "scenes from a memory" was just miserable. the songs were not catchy or memorable, and mike portnoy was just as paper thin as ever, as well as stiff as a telephone pole. The lyrics were stale and unimaginative, and I am just SICK and TIRED of James LeBrie's whining voice. This band is just SO self indulgent and so insincere that I just cant even tolerate listening to them anymore. AND these guys are from my home town, too....
THERE-honest, straightforward critique of a band that is not directed at anybody on this tribe. hopefully, stuff like that can open up discussion that is fun and stimulating. its just my opinion, and if someone else would disagree, that I take no offense.
